Full Stack Developer

We’re looking for a talented engineer who's comfortable full stack, especially from the application layer up (Django & Javascript). We're also looking for someone who understands how to work with distributed systems at scale. You'll be working with us to help improve and extend the front facing functionality and architecture of Salient. We expect you to be independent enough to take full charge of a problem or subsystem but also a team player who improves the work environment for everyone.

As a member of a small team you'll have the chance (and the challenge!) to play many roles so knowledge of system administration (particularly container orchestration tools like kubernetes) or machine learning are also a considerable plus. If you’re interested in the business side of things there’s also plenty of room for client interaction and business strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Review and contribute to front-end architecture
  • Potentially lead a migration to a Javascript framework (React/Vue)
  • Help build a Django REST API
  • Help design and develop various new front-end interfaces
  • Use Selenium to build automated tests

Required Skills

  • Excellent knowledge of Javascript and Python
  • Excellent knowledge of Django
  • Modern workflow and DevOps including git and docker
  • Ability to work in a Linux/Open Source ecosystem
  • Capable of working independently & cooperatively
  • Excellent communication skills
  • English fluency required
